Congratulations to Haili Asbury our April Superintendent's Award Winner!

The 2nd Trimester Awards Night is April 10, 2019 at 5:30pm in the FMS gymnasium. We hope to see you there.

    From the Principal's Desk

    Dear Parents/Guardians/Students:

The 2nd trimester report cards were mailed home March 25, 2019 and a copy was given to your student to bring home. We hope that you will take this opportunity to talk with your student about his/her grades and help your student set goals for the 3rd Trimester. Those students in 7th and 8th grades will soon be receiving notices about credits and summer school. Students who do not earn enough credits during the school year will be responsible for attending summer school in order to move to the next grade. Please let us know if you have any questions about this document should your student receive one.

The 8th grade Parent Committee continues to meet monthly and has been fundraising for the FMS trip/activity and graduation. There next fundraiser is March 30th here at Fortuna Middle. Both FMS and TTS will be hosting a Volleyball Tournament and selling Indian Tacos. Please come by campus and grab something to eat even if you aren’t joining us at the tournament. All FMS 8th grade students have received information to take home about the graduation ceremony, pictures for the graduate slideshow, and diploma information. If your student has not brought this home, another copy can be obtained from the FMS office, or off of our Facebook page. Your student should have also brought home information about a class picture, so please ask him/her for it if you are interested in purchasing.

On March 29th, our school held a Super Mario themed rally to get students excited about state testing. We played Mario themed games, and talked about why it’s important for students to do their best on the test. Our school will begin state assessments next week, so we ask that you send your student to school on time, fed, and well-rested. Although school attendance is always important, it is very important that your student not miss these tests because the make-up schedule is so limited. Thank you for your help in this matter.

The annual Fortuna Elementary PTO Carnival will be held April 5, 2019 at South Fortuna Elementary School. While everyone is invited, students must have supervision to attend. If you are unable to accompany your student to this event, please do not send them alone. Unfortunately in the past we have had some students make poor choices when unsupervised and we want to keep this a family friendly event. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
